BLACKHEATH – Organisations

Blackheath Village Society is a registered charity, whose objects are to promote the benefit of Blackheath and the neighbourhood. The Society is involved in a variety of local projects, including in particular running Blackheath's popular May fair Visit website >>

The Village Hall, along with other notable buildings and houses in the village, was designed by the eminent architect Charles Harrison Townsend. It started its life in 1897 as a school by day and a social club in the evening. Today it has a stage and is well equipped for badminton, table tennis, short mat bowls and many other activities including private functions.

Blackheath Cricket Club. League Cricket has made a welcome return to Blackheath as the Club has joined the I'Anson league and will be fielding 2 teams every Saturday. The Colts section has over a 150 colts on the books. In 2006, the Club won the best-kept cricket ground in Surrey award from the Surrey Playing fields Association.

St Martin’s Church
In the heart of the village lies the unusual, yet beautiful Arts and Crafts church of Blackheath. It holds one service a week varying from a traditional Sung Holy Communion to a Family Service aimed at the many young children in the village. The services are well supported by the Blackheath community and others from neighbouring villages. Services start at 10am, except Sung Evensong at 6pm on the third Sunday of the month.
