The Council comprises 9 honorary councillors who are
unpaid volunteers. The Council employs a part-time Clerk. We manage and
fund a range of activities on behalf of our communities: the
Council-owned property (including common land and the two playgrounds); the allotments field; and litter picking.
We also review and comment on all local planning applications;
coordinate with Surrey County Council (SCC) and Waverley Borough Council (WBC) on issues
that affect the parish and help deal with issues
raised by parishioners.
We support community projects in all three villages, eg the road-side curb improvement scheme near the Blackheath Village Hall, the Shamley Green and Wonersh traffic calming initiatives, and provision of new community notiice boards.
You are welcome to contact your Parish Councillors about any local issue of concern. The Parish Council has recently introduced a system where specific Councillors take the lead on key areas of the Parish Council's activities:

At the start of each meeting there is always an opportunity for members of the public to raise any issues of concern they may have. Our commitment to openness and transparency
The Council's constitution is governed by Statutes going back to 1894 up to the 2011 Localism Act. The Council has also adopted its own Standing Orders and Financial Regulations to give clarity and consistency to its procedures. Please click on the links below to see the relevant documents.

The Council has also adopted the model Publication Scheme recommended by the Information Commissioner. It has also adopted a Code of Conduct for Members to comply with the provisions of the Localism Act 2011. The Council has also adopted a Planning Code of Good Practice to inform its consideration of individual planning applications.
